It’s not just residents who get to enjoy the fun, our amazing staff joined together recently for a sports day filled with laughter, friendly competition and whole lot of team spirit. We believe that having fun is just as important as hard work – and keeping morale high sometimes means putting staff dignity aside for an egg and spoon race. The afternoon saw the two teams battle it out in the bean bag balancing, three legged race (some legs more cooperative than others), and a fiercely contested tug of war amongst other games.
The losing team faced the ultimate punishment of being pelted, in the stocks, with wet sponges. Of course, this escalated into a full blown water fight with more staff and residents gleefully joining in. By the end, nobody was safe..not even Katie, Home Manager.
Residents had front row seats to the chaos, cheering us on and generally enjoying the atmospehere. Events like this arent just about games, they help build strong connections and lasting memories between staff and residents, create a warm and postive enviroment and shows, that here at Hengoed, we value joy and togetherness as much as delivering excellent care.
” It was a brilliant afternoon that brought staff together for some good old fashioned fun! It was such a success that we are already planning for next years! “.
